The supply of available office space in the Basel region fell by 10,300 m2 or 16% in the first half of 2023 and amounts to 130,100 m2. The availability rate decreased from 5.9% at the end of 2022 to currently 5.3%.

Reductions in supply were measurable in the city centre (−6,800 m2), in Breite/St. Alban (−14,000 m2) and in Kleinbasel Ost (−8,900 m2). Conversely, the available office space increased noticeably in Kleinbasel West (+20,800 m2). This rise also happened due to the fact that significantly more space is being offered on the market in the Klybeck area.

In most Swiss city centers, the supply of available office space is scarce. However, that’s not the case in Basel. That’s why first companies are taking advantage of this market opportunity and relocating there to the city centre.
